400Km FAI triangle with standard engine.
Andrea Cecchetto (Pilot): A couple of years ago my father said me "Yes, in theory with a standard machine we can do 400 km and 10 hours flying". Since then, I started dreaming this flight.
I grew up a lot of experience and on November 16, 2024 (I did a 346 km flight) I decided "Next year will be the right year" and finally, last Wednesday, the forecast was good, little wind and I was ready "I will not close the triangle if it is a flight shorter than 400 km" and so I did.
I took off as soon as everything was ready (6:30am), unlikely already at 10 in the morning the turbulent spring thermals started and the wind was head-on, not the best conditions for a large triangle. I made it anyway, demonstrating the reliability and efficiency of the engine.
402Km in 9h Consumption was only 1.74 l/h 25.6Km/l, 15.7 l, I still had 2l left in the tank!
There is still a long way to go to reach the limit of this paramotor. The goal has now already changed, but that's another story.
Charles Terrell writes:
Miniplane paramotors breaking established paradigms in the paramotor world today. The wing downsize trend has for a while shun smaller engines from the paramotor spotlight. Today Per il volo showed the whole world that its engineering is second to none, and that a design based on simplicity and efficiency is key to success in our sport. Congratulations Andrea Cecchetto and Diego Cecchetto for this achievement.
